A Staffing Update from Pastor Kevin

Dear Northway Church,

Please see the letter I received this week from our Worship Pastor, Eric Hays.

Northway,

I have had the great blessing of getting to be a part of Northway since 2014. Through my years at Northway I graduated college, married Kelsie, made some of the best friends I’ve ever had, and eventually ended up being the Worship Pastor of this amazing church! I have been blessed to work with some of the most amazing staff members and volunteers that I could ever ask for. Northway has been home for Kelsie and me for the entire time we have been married, and we are so grateful for the memories we have made here. I wish we had the time to personally thank each and every person who has invested in us, encouraged us, and loved us throughout our time at this incredible church.

I have accepted a new ministry position at Keystone Church in Ankeny, Iowa (about 20 minutes north of Des Moines). Although we never expected this, God has made it abundantly clear that this is what he has next for us in our journey with Him. Keystone is a rapidly growing church in one of the fastest growing cities in the country. They are about to move into a new worship center to help meet the needs of their growth. Though we are very sad to leave all the friends and family we have here in Macon, we are excited to be a part of what God is doing in His Church in the middle of Iowa.

We will be praying for Northway Church as we make the transition into this new season. I will be praying that Northway will continue to be a vibrant place of worship and that the Lord will provide a great Worship Leader to continue leading the church in worshipping the God who is worthy of all praise. I ask that you would pray for Kelsie and me as we join a new church family, make friends in a new city, and help a young church move into a new worship center so that more and more people can come to know and follow Jesus!

My final day at Northway will be Sunday morning, January 8th. I look forward to the time I have remaining to worship with you at Northway. Thank you for your love and encouragement!

- Eric & Kelsie Hays

While we are saddened to lose Eric, we are so thankful for the countless ways he and Kelsie have served our church family over these last eight years. As many of you are aware, Eric has served as an intern, worship assistant, and the worship pastor. Also, Kelsie served as an intern in our student ministry, as interim KIDS director, and as the full-time director. My family has personally benefited from their ministries and will miss them greatly. However, we are excited for them as they transition into their next phase of ministry and will be praying that they will see the Lord move in and through them in their new location.

We are planning a drop-in reception for Eric and Kelsie on Thursday, January 5. Please look for more details in next week’s newsletter.

Your Pastor,

Kevin Mills
